Victory: Syracuse University Drops Allegations Against Student Blogger
FIRE has just learned that Syracuse University College of Law has informed student Len Audaer that it will not file any charges against him. Since October, Syracuse had threatened Audaer with severe punishment for "harassment" over his role in a fake-news parody blog about life in law school. FIRE had strongly advocated for Syracuse to uphold its promises of free speech. Audaer does not have to sign any agreement restricting his speech rights, so he is free to discuss his case. FIRE will have more on this case in the coming hours.
