Hate Act – Nicholls has an obligation to create and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment for all members of the university community. As a public institution, we are bound by court rulings that expression, even hateful expression, cannot be punished based on its content or viewpoint alone. Hateful expression that constitutes a true threat, incitement to imminent lawless action, discriminatory harassment, or defamation is subject to sanction.
