FIRE Wraps Up 2008 with Comprehensive End-of-Year Blogs
2008 was an extremely busy and important year at FIRE. We won numerous victories for free speech at campuses across the country and began new and exciting programs that aim to change the culture at these schools. As we wrap up this incredible year, we wanted to take a look back at the cases and issues that ignited FIRE staff with a passion for sustaining liberty and individual freedoms in higher education. Throughout the next two weeks on The Torch, we will be summarizing the many incidents of suppression and censorship that made up FIRE's most shocking cases. From each case, we learned something new that helps us continue the battle for liberty on campus and hopefully through our work, FIRE's supporters and allies will continue the fight along side us in 2009.
