Greg Takes on Speech Codes in Latest Installment of Blog Series at The Volokh Conspiracy
In his third installment for The Volokh Conspiracy during his week-long stint as a guest contributor, FIRE president Greg Lukianoff tackles campus speech codes. Greg discusses FIRE's annual Spotlight on Speech Codes report, some of the worst speech codes he's seen over the past 11 years, and, of course, the many decisions handed down by courts across the country striking down speech codes as unconstitutional. Greg concludes by asking readers why they think colleges and universities still maintain unconstitutional speech codes, despite clear legal precedent against such policies. He also asks what can be done to change this trend.
As always, the conversation over at The Volokh Conspiracy is very active. Join now and let us know what you think of campus speech codes.
