Noted Profs Fish, Nelson Conduct 'Great Debate' on Academic Freedom
Last week, the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) hosted its eighth Arthur N. Rupe Great Debate, on the subject of "Academic Freedom in a Time of Crisis." The debate featured noted academics Stanley Fish, a New York Times blogger and professor of law and humanities at Florida International University, and Cary Nelson, English professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and president of the American Association of University Professors.
