The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, College Pulse, and RealClearEducation released the first-ever College Free Speech Rankings, a comprehensive comparison of the student experience of free speech on their college or university campuses. The rankings are based on the voices of 20,000 currently enrolled students at 55 colleges and are designed to help parents and prospective students choose the right college.

Surveys conducted by FIRE and YouGov analyze college students’ attitudes toward free expression, free association, and due process on college campuses. The surveys include questions about self-expression and censorship, disinvitations, hate speech, student fees, student groups, procedural protections such as cross-examination and the participation of advisors, and the purpose of campus disciplinary proceedings.
