Kat graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in communication, media, and technology studies. While at UNC, she served as a copy editor for The Daily Tar Heel, the university’s nonprofit student newspaper, and worked as an executive assistant. Kat joined FIRE as a contract researcher after graduation, assisting with faculty database updates before transitioning into her current role. In October 2024, she became a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal.

Outside of FIRE, Kat enjoys creating art, reading DC comics, and watching hockey with her cat, Salem.
