A hostile environment exists when the unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature is sufficiently severe, persistent, or pervasive that it unreasonably interferes with an individual’s participation in a university program or activity or creates an intimidating, hostile, offensive, or abusive environment for that individual’s participation in a University Program or Activity (commonly known as Hostile Environment).

Examples of conduct that may constitute Sexual Harassment include but are not limited to: …

  • Unwanted sexual advances, including repeated unwanted requests for dates, or repeated unwanted requests for sexual contact;
  • Unwanted written, verbal, or electronic statements of a sexual nature, including sexually suggestive comments, jokes, videos or innuendos;
