Greg to Speak in D.C. on the Crisis of Freedom of Association
FIRE President Greg Lukianoff will be speaking in Washington, D.C., on Monday, November 1, about the assault on freedom of association that lies at the heart of the Supreme Court's recent ruling in Christian Legal Society v. Martinez. In that case, the Court allowed a public law school to effectively kick a Christian student group off campus because it maintained belief-based standards for its leadership and voting membership. The decision is likely to be used in the coming years to justify unprecedented denial of freedom of association for campus groups who are ideological or religious minorities. More information on the speech, which is being hosted by the National Association of Scholars, is available at the link above.
