FIRE is expanding its litigation capabilities and is seeking a full-time staff attorney with one or two years of legal experience to join its litigation team and represent students and professors at public colleges and universities to defend freedom of speech and conscience, due process, and academic freedom. The Program Officer will assist with the day to day operations of FIRE’s Individual Rights Defense Program (IRDP) and work closely with the department’s Director and staff. Read more.

To augment our defense of faculty rights, FIRE is launching a faculty hotline to more quickly and effectively assist public university faculty facing threats to their expressive rights or academic freedom. Summer 2021 Legal Internship Program
FIRE’s summer legal internship is open to first- and second-year law students attending accredited institutions in the United States.
FIRE offers a ten-week, paid Summer Internship as part of our efforts to educate students about their rights at colleges and universities. This internship gives current undergraduates the opportunity to assist FIRE in defending civil liberties on campuses across the country. Read more.
