The CFN student conference is a rare opportunity to hear from some of the leading experts on free speech in the country. During the morning and afternoon sessions, students will hear from FIRE Co-founder and Chairman Harvey Silverglate, Director of the Alliance Defense Fund's Center for Academic Freedom David French, FIRE Board Member and University of Massachusetts professor Daphne Patai, Stanford Law professor Derek Shaffer, and filmmaker Andrew Marcus. Of course, FIRE's talented and accomplished staff will also be present during the sessions.
During dinner on Thursday and Friday night, students will hear from KC Johnson, co-author of Until Proven Innocent: Political Correctness and the Shameful Injustices of the Duke Lacrosse Rape Case and Wendy Kaminer, author of eight books including Free for All: Defending Liberty in America Today.
The conference will take place at the Doubletree Hotel in Philadelphia, just blocks from FIRE's headquarters, from June 18–20. Only student CFN members may apply. Interested students should register for the CFN here and apply for the conference here.
